FEFO for perishable inventory — not a report
First-expiry-first-out is how stock should leave the fridge — batch discipline baked into depletion, not a spreadsheet you open after waste spikes.

FEFO is a leave order, not a poster
Perishable operations lose money when the freshest crate is grabbed first. FEFO means the batch that expires soonest is the batch that depletes first — at sale, production, and waste — so book truth matches fridge truth.
Batches make FEFO enforceable
Without batches, FEFO is wishful copy. SevaRan’s inventory ledger holds batch identity on movements. When a sale or production run consumes stock, allocation can prefer earliest expiry instead of a mutable quantity field that forgets history.
Why waste reduction AI waits on this substrate
Any future waste-reduction assistant is only as honest as the ledger under it. Live FEFO and variance are the substrate; AI suggestions that ignore batch reality would be fiction. That is why capability pages stay Coming Soon until the floor data is real.
