Guest charges live on the folio. Room nights and occupancy live on the PMS spine. Night audit is the proof that yesterday’s posts and yesterday’s occupancy still reconcile before a new business date opens.

What to verify after a run

Confirm room charges posted once, late stays were handled with an explicit rule, and no open folio expects a charge that the audit already closed. If something fails, fix the source transaction — do not overwrite the ledger by hand.

• Does night audit create revenue by itself?

  No. It posts and validates according to rate and stay rules already on the booking. Audit is reconciliation, not invention.

• Can it run unattended?

  Yes via the Scheduler with a SYSTEM actor. The close path stays the same as an attended run.
